An older yet excellent model : Asus 125M Broad Range Wireless Router (WL-520GC)
I bought this for the express purpose of loading Dd-Wrt. I was hoping to get away with a super cheap explication for everything I was seeing for, but as it turns out, this thing had one indispensable error that made it unusable for my network. Sparing you all the details, the best wireless data rate I could get with this router was 13 Mbps. At the time of testing, I could consistently pull down between 23 and 30 Mbps over a wired connection. I could have lived with that if it were not for the fact that when you attach someone else one of these routers to the first (for extending your wireless signal to the other half of your house or for setting up a procure router that you don't allow guests onto), wireless carrying out drops to about .3 Mbps. That's surely ridiculous. I spent two weeks troubleshooting this problem on the Dd-Wrt forums without a resolution, so I decided to return it.
